Here is another sandal idea I came up with when I needed to make some for a children's Christmas pageant. This one is a little more elaborate than Sandals I. We use them for skits and plays that don't require much physical activity.
These sandals will hold up for some time, especially if you use thick vinyl (the kind used for upholstery). If making them for adults they should however, be worn by people who do not have to be physically active. In other words, they will hold up better when used only to walk around not running or jumping. **Not recommended for the kids since they will be playing outside at the Village Playground.
Since the original design was for kids, you will have to adjust all measurements for larger sizes. If you have the time and are creative perhaps you can alter this design. If so, let me know what you came up with.
You will need:
A pair of Flip-Flops. Available at most .99 cents stores
For these instructions I used One 12"x18" pieces of Dark Brown felt board cut in half for a size 7. (you'll need 2 entire pieces for large sizes). This kind of felt is stiff and cardboard like, not the flimsy one. You can also use Vinyl (Sold by the yard in most craft and fabric stores or if you live close to an upholstery store or factory, you can get pieces for FREE like I do!)
Scissors
Eyelet punch
A Pair of 60" or longer Shoe lacing. Also available at .99 cents stores in pack of two or more. (You can also use leather or suede lacing or brown or black satin ribbon).
Glue
WARNING! Please make a prototype and test before engaging in mass production. Even for children sizes I had to make a few adjustments. But they do hold up and look very nice.

It was late and I was tired when I typed these instructions but since I promised to have them by the 4/22/05 here they are. So please, if you find any discrepancies notify me at once.
