What is G² ?

is simply the abbreviation for “Growth Groups”. G² is not a new ministry. It is however, a new approach to what is more commonly known as Small Groups.

G² is made up of people like you and me who gather to “plant” seeds of fellowship, prayer and bible application. We “water” these seeds by committing to meet on a weekly basis to participate in activities and discussions that address life challenges from a biblical perspective. As a result we can witness how God causes us to “grow” and mature spiritually (1 Cor. 3:7).

G² facilitates sessions/activities that engage people in spiritual discussions. Culinary Arts, Mechanics, Health and Fitness, Arts & Crafts, Gardening and ESL, just to name a few, are samples of groups that will allow people in our church and the community to connect with God, with each other and with River of Life.

G² meets throughout the week at various times and in different locations. Thus, providing an opportunity for everyone to get connected and grow.

Why G² ?

The New Testament emphasizes the importance for the spiritual growth of God’s children. Christians have to grow in God’s grace and knowledge (2 Pet. 3:18).

Growing is a natural process in creation. Everything grows and must reach maturity. Christians likewise need to grow until they reach the fullness of the stature of Jesus Christ (Eph. 4:13). This growth has to be continuous. The Apostle Paul describes it this way, “...the inward man is being renewed day by day” (2 Cor. 4:16

Spiritual growth is not an option for believers in Jesus Christ. Without spiritual growth, Christians would remain as spiritual babies and live unhealthy spiritual lives. Paul refers to that growth when he says: “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come” (
2 Cor. 5:17).

At River of Life we believe that a healthy church is a church that is growing and maturing in it’s relationship with God and the church family and one that reaches out to share God’s love with the community. Because we believe that G² provides the opportunity and the tools to accomplish this we look forward to seeing you in one of our groups so that together we can grow, mature and encourage others to do the same.

“…so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way
bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God…”Colossians1:10
